Wedding Photo
![]() | Another small achievement in the wedding photography field. Now I often have to shoot weddings outside of Latvia, and some of those weddings were published in the South Wales YOURWEDDING magazine. Photos were both on the cover and in several issues. Bride Sabrina showed her photos to the magazine, and the editor liked the photos so much that he decided to create an article. Unfortunately, the best photos weren't put in the magazine, but I won't hide them ;) |
Attitude
The first thing that surprised me was the bride's attitude toward photos and photography. Here's what the bride wrote on her wedding web page:
After spending 6 months and around 6 hours a day I finally came across Andrejs's website...
As soon as I saw his first few photos-i cried...ran into the lounge i told Andrew ive found him!!!
When I said he was in Latvia Andys was a little worried id gone mad!!
We are so pleased to have found Andrejs and to have him as our photographer...his worked is truly outstanding and he is such a wonderful person....
Thank you just isn't enough!!! xx
This really means something - that a person spent a very long time surfing the internet to find their photographer. I'm very happy that Sabrina came across my website. This lovely wedding couple liked the photos so much that they were ready to pay for travel expenses, accommodation, spend 10 hours driving to collect me from the airport. People weren't scared of my basic English knowledge and the great distance. I'm really very happy about such attitude and courage.
Wedding Abroad
The wedding itself was charming, somewhat more peaceful than ours and with some different traditions. Preparation went without ransom and in a calm atmosphere. The bride prepared at the hotel with all 5 bridesmaids, whose age didn't exceed 10 years. As strange as it may be, in England, men often already start drinking beer from the very morning. The ceremony was very similar to ours, only with some nuances. Everywhere abroad where I have been, great importance is given to the moment of signing documents. In Latvia there are places and people who ignore this moment and don't consider it necessary at all. When asking why it's so important, I was told that it is confirmation or proof of the real wedding event, because a document is a very important thing. A downpour interrupted one group photo, but the group photography had to be moved inside the dark church, where the D3 performed excellently at high ISO. The downpour interrupted photography from time to time, but as it turned out, rain is an integral part of this territory. After the church, there was newlywed photography and going to the banquet venue. The banquet took place in a small restaurant/guesthouse by the sea. Here also began the biggest differences. The meal lasted about 3-4 hours, after which there was the first dance and party. Very often abroad they don't do without cake smearing on the face, where the groom himself, noticing that the bride hasn't smeared the cake enough on his face, took another piece of cake and smeared it himself :) Around midnight, most people were drunk and slowly everything was winding down. That's how this lovely wedding went.
Wedding Magazine
The wedding magazine editor wanted more informational rather than artistic photos, because he wanted to show more wedding details. Here you can also view the cover and read the content of these pages: wedding cover.pdf and wedding magazine.pdf
